House Rastanyev, of Garrashu VI

House Rastanyev does trace its roots back to a long forgotten (by others) terran Russian nobility, but its rise to status of House Major in the Padishah Imperium is much more recent, dating to only 3000 years or so ago when Michel Rastanyev worked the Rastanyev family into House Minor status on planet Garrashu before getting full fledged membership in the Landsraad and the fief of Garrashu given the House as their own after running it for other Houses Major in the past.

Over the last century, House Rastanyev has been a growing House Major. Following in the path of expanding its economic realms, House Rastanyev, after securing their Homeworld fiefdom of Garrashu (which offers a rather hearty agricultural production). The mostly neutral stance of the House, with respect to the major political issues in the Imperium, and the adroit manipulation of what manoevering was possible within CHOAM allowed the House to gain more contracts, with the years, and hence made Rastanyev a fairly wealthy and successful House, among the others of the Landsraad. (Not a powerhouse, but among the fairly wealthy ones, just to be clear).

After the death of Earl Valeri Rastanyev a brief internal struggle ensued, though it was quickly put to an end when His Majesty Fredhrik XIX Corrino proclaimed Lady Ivanova Rastanyev, the sister of Valeri and daughter of Constantine Rastanyev, Regent of the House. The Lady Ivanova's Regency however, did not last long, The Lady fell victim to the Semuta drug and suffered a severe nervous breakdown followed by insanity. Josef Constantovich Stalinsky Rastanyev, an illegitimate son of Constantine Rastanyev, was named Regent, and all indeed seemed well in the house, at least for a time. Regent Josef eventually called for his brother, Mikhail to come to Kaitain. Together the brothers set Rastanyev back on the straight path. Josef was eventually named Siridar-Earl and named Mikhail na-Earl. The reign of Josef however, was short and filled with tragedy. Not even a year after he became Earl Josef became mysteriously ill. Earl Josef eventually suffered a horrid and extremely painful death, from a rare poison. The perpetrator is still to this day unknown. For a change, all went smoothly, and the na-Earl was proclaimed Siridar-Earl after the proscribed time of mourning had passed.

Timeline*

6076	Igor Rastanyev, a well to do merchant and entrepreneur, specializing in agrotechnologies is hired by House Major Lador to setup the exploitation of the fertile Garrashu system, from whence Igor hails.
7002	Now House Minor Rastanyev, under the leadership of Michel Rastanyev is sponsored into full Landsraad membership and House Major status by House Lador and two other allied Houses. House Rastanyev is given the title of Earl and the family fief of Garrashu to own.
7124	The Modern Orthodox Church is instated on Garrashu under the good auspices of Earl Michel Rastanyev, as official faith of the House and it's worlds. Population of Garrashu adopts the Church.
8534	Period of unrest starts, at Vladimir II's death. His cousins fighting for the fief as he had no direct heir. The Landsraad intervenes a year later to stabilize the situation. House Rastanyev loses it's claim on most of it's CHOAM contracts, keeping only Homeworld.
8592	Viacheslav Rastanyev consolidates all the feuding family branches under his banner.
8670	House Rastanyev gets it's first CHOAM contract since unrest period.
10,002	Michel IX Rastanyev dies at age 123, his eldest son Constantine III assumes the Earldom.
10,056	Na-Earl Valeri Rastanyev is born to Constantine and Mariella.
10,060	Ivanonva Rastanyev is born to Constantine and Mariella.
10,061	Mariella, spouse to Constantine dies of birth related complications.
10,083	House Rastanyev's first big deal is struck, as it manages to secure the CHOAM contract for planet Ecaz for a 6 year term.
10,087	Constantine Rastanyev falls prey to illness, leaving the day to day operations of the House to his son Valeri.
10,089	CHOAM contract for Ecaz renewed after a successful bid for 6 more years.
10,090	Constantine Rastanyev dies of his illness, leaving his young heir Valeri to assume the Earldom.
10,091	Vonda DeNegra arrives on planet Garrashu to serve as consort to Valeri Rastanyev.
10,091	Valeri Rastanyev mysterious dies and Ivanova is named Regent. Ivanova Rastanyev becomes addicted to the semuta drug, Joseft Constantovich Stalinsky Rastanyev is named Regent and Later Earl. His brother Mikhail arrives on Kaitain, a few months later he is named na-Earl and heir apparent.
10,092	Josef Rastanyev dies a mysterious death, na-Earl Mikhail ascends to the rank of Siridar-Earl.
